Tambai
Worldbeat and African music fans will be excited to hear that after nearly a decade of electrifying festival and club shows across Canada, ZIMBAMOTO is finally releasing its first album, Tambai.
The music is rooted in the classical repertoire of the mbira, a metal-tined ‘thumb piano’ that first appeared in the Zambezi River valley nearly 1,000 years ago, that is traditionally used to invoke ancestral spirits.
Rootrospective
Rootrospective is a 16 song collection gathered from Roots Roundup’s original recordings from 1986 – 1993. Lovingly assembled and remastered at Fluid Studios in Vancouver, BC, this collection features songs from the band’s first three cassette releases, two CD releases and also contains two tracks that were never included on any Roots Roundup CD or cassette.
Originally released in 1997, the original pressing quickly sold out and left many fans wondering and inquiring about where to find Roots Roundup music… so here it is! The 2015 pressing of Rootrospective has also been remastered and comes in a shiny, new package as well!
